Renowned chef Kevin Shikami opened Kin near downtown Portland in 2010. The restaurant is named for its family-like atmosphere and globally inspired cuisine, and features predominantly locally farmed produce, fish, and meats as well as locally crafted beer, wine and liquor. Shikami’s style is influenced by Asia and Europe, and menus change frequently based on what is in season.
The balanced combination of natural, urban, and local elements create the inviting atmosphere of Kin. Tabletops are made of reclaimed wood, furnished by Tropical Salvage; sculptural cut-vine light fixtures, created by HIIH Galleries, cast a warm light throughout; and a slate bar top and communal table create unexpected texture for patrons. The roll-up garage-style door will allow indoors and out to come together during the summer months.
The restaurant seats 50 with a full bar and outdoor dining. Reservations are accepted.
